Cheryl Christenson

Self-taught basket artisan and designer Cheryl Christenson has been weaving baskets since 1983. Following a degree in business administration from Clarion University and a career at home raising 3 children with husband Rob, Cheryl now devotes much of her time to designing her award-winning baskets in her 1830’s barn studio at Meadow View Farm, in Hillsborough.

Cheryl’s baskets make use of a variety of materials, including wild grasses from the fields and her garden. She continues to weave the large reed baskets which were her original creations but has also added an extensive line of basketry ornaments and tiny embellished basket necklaces. Her favorite project is the weaving of exquisite miniature baskets from silky-smooth black ash reed. Cheryl’s baskets have been featured in magazines and newspapers and can be found in fine craft galleries in NH.
